At second sight, I still like the idea of the 3D warped iBooks bookcase, but maybe in some different shapes. This spiral looks quite 'agressive' and the relation with books and reading is not clear enough.

I like this design at first sight. Some remarks:

- please use a smaller font for the author's name, and use a bigger font for the title (the title should be readable when scaling down the cover to 100 px width);
- I would suggest not to mix italics/regular in the title;
- Would it be possible to have the 'warped' bookcase display some 'warped' ebook covers as well?
