Rudi, you won 6 projects in the last three months. How did you do that.
But first could you please tell something about yourself?
I'm 22 and grew up surrounded by a family of artists and designers. My sister Emma set up a design agency in London last year and I've been doing freelance work for her since then.

I graduate from University College Falmouth (Cornwall) in the Summer and PimTim is a great opportunity for me to be a part of the industry and offer clients a fresh and original perspective. As a design student, the feedback I’ve had on PimTim has given me a lot of confidence, so this is a big thank you to all the buyers.
How did you became a designer?
My parents always told me to do what I enjoy and coming from such an 'arty' family it was almost inevitable for me to end up in art or design. I can appreciate fine art but the reason I wanted to become a designer was to give my work more of a purpose. There are few things better than watching one of your ideas develop, grow, and then to see it in context on the internet or in the 'real world'.
You won 6 contests in the last couple of months, what is your secret?
Usually it is just about making a connection with the client and actually understanding the 'feel' they want for their brand. The best way to do this is to read the brief carefully and then sketch the ideas that come to mind, however obscure! Ideas have to work and be clear, however badly you draw them, before you make the move onto the computer.
Who or what inspires you?
I'm inspired by everything I see and down in Cornwall i'm surrounded by so many creative people. One thing in particular that I can't get out of my head is the Sony Bravia 'Balls' advert by Fallon. It is such a simple idea but visually looks amazing and works perfectly with 'Heartbeats' in the background. One of my housemates, also studying graphic design swears by watching it once a day!
Which designs are you most proud of?
Honestly, on PimTim it was my first win, the dutch flag / duvet cover for dekbedshop. As an idea it is just simple and clear so I'm still trying to top that one!
Thanks Lex and we wish you lots of success with other projects, regards PimTim
