Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics (AMT) N.V. (Euronext: AMT) used the crowdsource-platform PimTim successfully to design their packaging design for the gene therapy Glybera®.
The contest for Glybera®’s packaging design, which ran three weeks, resulted in submission of 407 designs from 112 designers, from more than twenty countries.
‘This way of doing business reflects the innovative style at AMT’, says Janneke de Wal, director Global Marketing & Sales. ’PimTim offers an efficient platform to work with designers. It is amazing to see the quality of the designs and we are pleased with the final results.’
About Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics
AMT has a unique gene therapy platform that to date appears to circumvent many if not all of the obstacles that have prevented gene therapy from becoming a mainstay of clinical medicine. Using adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors as the delivery vehicle of choice for therapeutic genes, the company has been able to design and validate what is probably the first stable and scalable AAV production platform. As such, AMT’s proprietary platform holds tremendous promise for thousands of rare (orphan), especially diseases that are caused by one faulty gene. Currently, AMT has a product pipeline with nine products at different stages of development (www.amtbiopharma.com).
