An interview this time with the Creative Simon Doble, Shillington, United Kingdom: http://www.pimtim.com/members/481/folio
Simon, you have won 5 projects (!) in the last weeks. What is the secret of your success…..
But first could you please tell something about yourself?
I have been working in the graphic design /advertising business since 1991. I studied for a BA Hons degree at Central Saint Martins, London. After graduating I worked for numerous companies including Parlophone Records, Capital Records, WCRS, Saatchi & Saatchi, D&AD and Stranger & Stranger. In 1991 I set up my own company ‘Nude’ and have worked for clients like the Victoria and Albert Museum, Liberty and Marks and Spencer to name a few.
I am 37 years old, married to Nicky.
How did you became a designer?
I honestly think ‘Lego’ had a big influence on me becoming a designer, I used to spend hours making space ships!

You won 4 contests in the last weeks, what is your secret?
I love being a graphic designer! I love thinking about ideas freely and observing them taking shape;I love working on a project all day, losing myself in the work, and, even after having been involved in this field for almost 18 years, I still love the excitement of getting a piece of work back from the printer (if it looks good).
Who or what inspires you?
There are so many fantastic designers working today: creators like Jonathan Barnbrook and Nicholas Blechman. Designers who produce breathtaking forms, such as M/M in Paris, Nagi Noda in Tokyo and Mark Farrow in London.
Do you have design-specialties?
I have been lucky in my career in that I have worked in so many different areas of design from packaging to posters. But I think my favorite is logotype design.
Which designs are you most proud of?
I’m proud of every piece of work I do, otherwise it wouldn’t leave the studio.

Is there a life next to design?
There has to be I would lose my soul otherwise! I’m with Albert when he said: “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.â€
How does your workspace look like?
It looks like a mix between the bridge of the Starship Enterprise and a Library!

What do you do in your freetime?
I Ski as much as I can, play football and socialise with my wife and friends.
Simon thanks for the interview and we wish you lots of success!
